Movie Review-Send Help

When you hear/see reviews about famed filmmaker Sam Raimi ("Evil Dead", "Army Of Darkness", "Spider-Man" movies with Tobey Maguire) that "he's back to his true form", I was curious and it's been a over 20 years since I've enjoyed a Sam Raimi film.

It's an OK film. It's a one-time watch for me. I was impressed with Rachel McAdams and give her kudos for stepping outside of her comfort zone. Unfortunately, everything is forced. Most of the situations that drive the plot don't ring true and didn't seem natural. Maybe that was the point and the film was supposed to be this way, but it didn't work for me and it especially fell apart with the "plot twists" in the third act.

The other positive other than Rachel's decent performance is that Sam Raimi still champions practical effects! In a world that seems to be ever fascinated with AI and CGI, it's always refreshing to see practical effects in use! I just wish I liked the film more!
